Komotin Castle

Komotin is a separate medieval fortified site in Jajce's wider hinterland. The heritage agency includes it alongside Vinac in its programme of care for historic castles. Its compact ruins merit study in their own right rather than reuse of the Jajce citadel model. This initial record deliberately leaves specific dates and room functions open until the designation and measured plans are reviewed.

Roofless residential enclosure

The heritage agency interprets Komotin as a fortified noble residence. Its narrow rectangular mapped outline informs this distinct roofless model, rather than a conventional courtyard with four corner towers.

Internal masonry

Interior partitions indicate an enclosed residence but do not assign undocumented bedrooms, halls or service uses. Their alignments and remaining heights are interpretive.

Lower open compartment

Collapsed masonry and an open ground compartment preserve the character of ruins. Individual rubble placements and doorway details are estimated.
