Toričan Fortress

Toričan stands above Varošluk near Turbe. Archaeologist Đoko Mazalić associates the castle with the nobleman Batalo but cautions against several historical identifications applied to it. The Travnik museum publishes dedicated research on Lašva and Toričan. The model presents low separated remains, not an intact residential castle.

Ruins and topography preserve evidence of the defensive site.

Architecture & evidence

Western tower remnants

The local architectural description records two low tower remains. The larger western shell is kept close to ground level.

Eastern remains

A smaller eastern shell marks the other end of the ridge. Stone courses, precise dimensions and current survival require a measured survey.

Broken connection

Only low connecting traces are shown. Mazalić cautions against attaching records of similarly named castles to this site.
