Velika Kladuša Castle

The old castle overlooks Velika Kladuša near Bosnia and Herzegovina's northwestern border. Its masonry and central tower belong to a long sequence of defensive use and later adaptation. The municipality's heritage and tourism planning recognises the castle alongside other fortified sites in the wider district. More recent use as a hospitality complex means that visible rooms and roofs should not automatically be read as medieval. This inventory identifies the site while detailed architectural chronology remains to be reviewed.

Round keep

The central keep is the dominant form of the rounded castle enclosure. Its later hospitality adaptation is documented by municipal planning records; the model does not present those rooms and roof details as untouched medieval fabric.

Adapted courtyard wings

Municipal strategy describes a hotel and restaurant complex within and around the old castle. Low courtyard ranges indicate this later use. Their footprints and roof forms are interpretive, and current access or operation is not implied.

Rounded perimeter

The curtain and smaller projecting towers articulate the compact hilltop complex. This architectural study estimates their radii and present heights; it is not a surveyed restoration design.
