Orašac belongs to the Una valley’s defensive network. The national park’s photograph shows a ruined upright tower and lower masonry on a green hill. Kreševljaković describes the fort as an Ottoman enclosure built between 1703 and 1730 around an older medieval tower. The model keeps the surviving tower prominent and shows the surrounding remains conservatively.

History and context

A tower reused

Kreševljaković places Orašac in the Ostrovica captaincy, with a dizdar commanding its garrison. The enclosure was built beside a medieval tower between 1703 and 1730. Three guns are recorded in 1833, illustrating the later fort’s artillery role.

Commanders and local memory

Kreševljaković names Ahmedaga, then Huseinaga Grozdanić and his son Dervišaga among Orašac’s commanders. He also records a local association with the epic character Budalina Tale. These are different kinds of evidence: named officeholders help describe administration, while the epic connection belongs to the region’s storytelling tradition.

The Ottoman fort was built around the earlier tower in 1703–1730. Broken low segments indicate the mapped ruin area without asserting a fully preserved wall circuit.

Hilltop setting

The fort stands inland from the right bank of the Una. Real mapped roads and vegetation surround it; there is no invented lake or coastal landscape.
