Sokolac Fortress

Sokolac, also called Sokol grad, is the hill fortress near Bihać rather than the eastern Bosnian town of Sokolac. Its site includes evidence of prehistoric occupation as well as medieval and Ottoman fortification. The surviving keep and enclosing masonry mark a strongpoint above the Una corridor. The commission's heritage record treats these periods together as a protected historic site. A model must preserve this layered identity and distinguish restored fabric from masonry surviving in ruin.

Medieval–Ottoman

The hillfort develops into a stone stronghold used through successive political periods.

Architecture & evidence

Sokolačka tower

The strong elevated tower anchored the fortress's defense. The model shows the recognizable roofless cylindrical survivor with an open parapet. Dimensions and individual openings are estimates.

Enclosure entrance

The compact masonry enclosure follows a steep hill above the Bihać plain. This study includes an actual arched opening and a narrow internal ascent.

Cliff-edge defenses

The heritage institute describes the abrupt northern and eastern slopes toward the Una and Bihać. The walls exploit this topography; no moat or water enclosure is invented.
